DON’T BE AMONG THE CONSPIRATORS
READ: 2 Samuel 17:15-22
MEMORISE: Then someone told David, saying, “Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom.” And David said, “O Lord, I pray, turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness!” (2 Samuel 15:31)
EXPOSITION:
In Creation, God blessed man to be fruitful and multiply. He did the same for the animal kingdom. We are created for company and companionship. As we grow together, some will be leaders while others are followers. Perform your duties without envying those who excel or outperform others. Instead, pray for them and yourself to receive more grace. Sadly, Satan has manipulated us into turning against and attacking ourselves. Reflect on negative actions like backbiting, envy, bitterness, discrimination, and character assassinations towards our superiors, juniors, bosses, co-workers, and people around us. What have we really gained from them? Ahithophel was a friend of David and helped him make decisions, but he became part of a group that wanted to harm David. It is not good to speak badly about, or act against those in charge at work, or church. God doesn’t like conspirators and their plans.
Don’t let your talents be used to hurt your leaders. The Bible says that conspirators will suffer, as in dwelling in a dry land (Psa. 68:6). If you are already involved in a conspiracy, leave now. God protects His people from evil plans. Would you want someone to plot evil against you and your family? Then, don’t do it to others, begin to engage in acts of kindness even as today marks Random Acts of Kindness Day. Or aren’t you a child of God anymore? Dear devout, kindly retrace your way back to calvary.
PRAYER POINTS:
1. Oh Lord, remove every seed of conspiracy in me right now.
2. Father, fill me with the Holy Spirit so that there will be no room for conspiracy in me.
3. God, please attend to Your children who are suffering from satanic conspiracy, and fight for them, in Jesus’ name.
