GROW IN GRACE
2 Peter 3:17-18; 2 Peter 1:5-12; Acts 20:32

2 Peter 3:18 “But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, to him be glory both now and forever, Amen”.

God’s grace has been made available to the believer. Scripture says we were saved by grace (Ephesians 2:8) and God’s saving grace has appeared to all men (Titus 2:11). But as our opening scripture reveals to us, we must grow in that grace. If we do not grow in God’s grace, there is no way we can maximise all that God has provided for us in Christ Jesus. Beloved, you need to grow in grace and the key to growing in grace is found in our opening scripture. 2 Peter 3:17 says, “Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own steadfastness.” You need to grow in the grace that saved you so that you don’t fall into error. Growing in grace is a cumulative process that necessitates that you are steadfast in your walk with God, in your consecration and in your devotion to God. This is how to maintain the consistent growth of grace in your life.

To continually grow in grace, you need to understand the key or principle of steadfastness. It implies being consistent in prayers, in hearing and doing the Word of God, in dedication and service to God, and to continue in Christian consecration which is separation from the world. As you continue in these things, the grace of God will accumulate in your life and you will grow in grace continually. We can also see from the opening scripture that growing in grace is consistent with growing in the knowledge of Christ. To grow in the knowledge of Christ is to increase in the knowledge of the Word, for Christ is the living Word of God who is full of grace and truth (John 1:14). Beloved, it’s important that you let God fill you with His grace. Be steadfast in your walk with God, seek the knowledge of God, and the grace and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ will be multiplied unto you.

Further Meditation: 2 Peter 1:2; Jude 1:17-25

My Solid Front (Confession)
I declare that I have been saved by grace through faith. As I give myself to meditation in the Word, prayers, Christian consecration, and outright devotion to God and His kingdom, I grow in grace in Jesus’ name. Amen.
