Peace with God
Romans 5:1-2; Ephesians 2:12-18

Romans 5:1 “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

When we were sinners, we were in enmity with God. This was evidenced by our rebellion against God and His eternal laws. In Adam and by his transgression, mankind fell. However, Jesus was delivered for our transgression and was raised for our justification so that the way might be paved for peace to reach those who believe in Him. Peace with God is purely by faith. In Christ Jesus, we have been reconciled back to God through our Lord Jesus Christ, and we have peace with God. Peace is the work of righteousness (Isaiah 32:17). Having made us right with God through His substitutionary work on Calvary, Jesus Christ justified us that peace can be ours in Him. Now that we are justified by faith, we have peace with God. There is more in this peace than mere termination of enmity with God. There is friendship and loving-kindness with God in it. We are no longer in fear of judgement. We are at peace with God by faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.

We were justified by faith, not by the works of the law. Through faith in the finished works of Jesus Christ, we have become God’s friends. “And the Scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.” (James 2:23). In Ephesians 2:18, we understand that through Christ, who is our peace, we have access by one Spirit unto the Father. The peace of God is through Christ alone (Ephesians 2:14); we could not have earned it by our works of righteousness, because they were filthy rags.

MY SOLID FRONT (CONFESSION)
Thank You, Father, because I have been justified by faith. I therefore declare that the peace of God rules my heart and mind. I stay calm in raging situations because my eyes are fixed on Jesus. I enjoy wholesome and beautiful fellowship with my heavenly Father in Jesus’ Name. AMEN.
