Be the Best at what you do

Deuteronomy 28:13“And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them.”
Ecclesiastes 9:10“Whatsover thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.”

God wants us to be the best at what we do. God made us in His image and after His likeness. Psalms 8:1 tells us that God’s Name is excellent; He is an excellent God. He does everything well and beyond reproach. In the beginning at creation, the Word tells us that God made all things by His Word, and He looked and saw that they were all good, excellent and beyond reproach. We ought to be excellent like God because we are His image and His likeness. Today’s opening Scripture reveals God’s plan for His children, to be the head and not the tail.

So choosing to be anything less than the best is choosing something less than God’s best and will for you. The best that God has designed for you is to be the head and not the tail, to be above only, and not beneath. Therefore you must choose to excel, to be different, to break records and set new ones, to raise the bar and set standards, for the glory of God and the benefit of humanity. In every aspect of your career, business, academics, ministry, and in everything that you do, you must be the best at it; the best only and nothing but or less than the best.

Ecclesiastes 9:10 tells us “Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.” In other words, this is the only opportunity you have in time, on the earth, to do the will of God, and to be rewarded throughout eternity. The privilege is a unique and rare one; therefore you must use it well by being the best at what you do. Choose to stand out in your career, in academics, in ministry and in all that God has called you to do, because that is God’s will for you.

Meditate on the fact that you are the image of God, and that you have an excellent spirit like God. You are not a mediocre; you are a new breed of quintessential excellence without corruption. Think through everything that you do, through and through, and pour your heart into it uncompromisingly. Give attention to details. Be diligent to see what you do to a reasonable, good and conclusive end. Be the best at what you do. Take the lead in your circle or sphere of influence.

My Solid Front (Confession):In the Name of Jesus Christ, I declare that I am the seed of Abraham; therefore I am the head and not the tail. I choose to be the best at what God has called me to be and to do; I refuse to settle for mediocrity. I declare that an excellent spirit is at work in me. Amen.
