Romans 8:11 “But if the Spirit of him that raised Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you..” The Leverage
V: 37 And in the last day of the great feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.
V: 38 He who believes on Me, as the Scripture has said, “Out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.”
The Holy Spirit is a huge and an immeasurable blessing to us in Christ. It is a miracle of miracles that the tabernacle of God is with men. God has come home to us. He is with us and lives in us by His Spirit. What a blessing this is! Today’s opening Scripture reveals to us, very clearly, the ministry of the Spirit of God. It says if the Spirit of Him that raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken, give life to, your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwells in you.
The Spirit has a life-giving ministry; He gives life to our death-doomed body, and to everything that needs life in, with and around us. When we learn to fellowship with the Spirit and be filled with Him, He will give us life to live in the presence of God; and He will also give to others life through us. The Spirit is the One who gives life; He is the breath of life. He is the breath of life that was breathed into Adam’s nostrils after that his body had been formed from the dust of the earth, and he rose up a living soul. He does not only give life for existence, He also gives life for performance and sustenance.
He gives life to our mortal bodies; He sustains us to remain fit and relevant for life and destiny. We cannot do without the Spirit. We cannot live without Him. He is our Life-Giver; He is the fountain of life, and in His light, we see light. Little wonder the Lord Jesus told us in John 7:37-38 that when we are filled with the Spirit, He becomes rivers of life in us springing unto everlasting life.
When we pray in other tongues, the Spirit finds room to fulfil His ministry in and through us. Jude 20 tells us to build up ourselves on our most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost. The life-giving streams of the Spirit are built into us; they well up in us when we pray in other tongues. The rivers of living water of the Spirit begin to flow in and through us when we pray in the Spirit. We are stirred, and the Spirit takes over every part of us to the end that the life of God might be made manifest in and through us. What a blessing it is to receive the ministry of the Spirit when we pray in other tongues. Hallelujah!
My Solid Front (Confession):
In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I make the most of the lifegiving ministry of the Spirit of God as I pray in other tongues. I refuse to be down, deflated and discouraged; I am invigorated by the power of God! Amen.
