Ephesians 2:8-9.. “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
Titus 3:3-5 “For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.
But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, note
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;”
The Word reveals that we are saved by grace through faith; and that not of ourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast. Furthermore, John 1:17 tells us that both grace and truth came by Jesus Christ as God’s free gifts to us. Salvation is a miracle of the highest order. To be recreated and translated from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of God’s dear Son overnight, by grace through faith, is no doubt a miracle.
One moment, the unbeliever is overwhelmed by sin, satan and diseases; and the next moment, he confesses Jesus as Lord and believes that God raised Him from the dead and he is saved, changed and translated by grace. This is nothing but the wonder of grace. God’s grace is so transforming, lifting and powerful that it is just the miracle of all ages. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ is simply awesome. Oh, the transforming power of grace!
Believers ought not to undergo the process of change or transformation by struggle but by grace because our new birth did not happen by struggle, but by grace. The Word says in Colossians 2:6-7; “As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.” How did we receive Him? It was by grace through faith.
The miracle of salvation came by grace through faith and the transformation that salvation ministers comes by the same means. The change and fruits God expects of us in Christ can only come by grace through faith; therefore, we are to trust in His unfailing and transforming grace, as we yield to His Spirit in us through prayer and the study of God’s Word.
Nothing changes like the grace of God, for it is not by human power nor might but by God’s Spirit of grace. We got saved by grace through faith. How? We heard the Gospel and it ministered faith or assurance to us, which spurred us up to action; and salvation was the result. We did not act on the Word without conviction; we did by conviction which came by hearing the Word.
That is how God expects us to experience the unforced rhythms of grace through faith, which produces struggle-free change or transformation. Beloved, God’s grace is your change agent through faith. Refuse to struggle in your walk with God. Rely on His saving grace and strength to make good all that He has told you in His Word. God’s grace is at work in you.
My Solid Front (Confession): In the Name of Jesus, I believe that God’s grace is working in me now; therefore I rely on His transforming power to change me, lift me and establish me in all good works. Amen.
