Exodus 34:6 “And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, long suffering, and abundant in goodness and truth,”
Psalms 34:8 “O taste and see that the LORD [is] good: blessed [is] the man [that] trusteth in him.”
The revelation of God to Moses on Mount Sinai when he requested to see the glory of God is striking.God told him that He would proclaim His Name before He reveals His glory to him. Here is what He says of Himself in Exodus 34:6, “And the Lord passed by before him, and proclaimed, The Lord, The Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth.” Nobody knows God as much as Himself. This is God’s testimony and revelation of Himself.
God is good, benevolent, generous, forgiving, merciful, gracious and abundant in goodness. Our opening Scripture tells us that the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations. This ought to give us everlasting joy. The mercy of God is not short-lived; the life span of God’s mercy is everlasting. His mercies are sure and steadfast. What a blessing and relief it is know that God’s mercy is everlasting. God is good and faithful in mercy. You can rely on His mercy, for it is faithful and endures forever. Hallelujah!
Again, our opening Scripture tells of God’s goodness, mercy and faithfulness (truth). Good is beyond what God does. Good is who He is. You can exercise faith in the unchanging goodness of God and you will experience abundant help and grace from Him. Don’t believe the popular notion some traditional people have of God. Some believe He is indifferent as to our success and wellbeing, but that is not true. The Word tells us that He daily loads us with benefits; He is the God of our salvation (Psalms 68:19).
If you will daily meditate on His goodness, you will enjoy His benefits daily. Your faith in God’s goodness is your access to His benevolence and unending goodness. Don’t let the world talk you out of God’s goodness. The Word says to not be conformed to this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of your mind (Romans 12:2), that you may be able to prove His good and acceptable and perfect will. God’s will for you is abundant prosperity, not evil and calamities.
The devil is back of every evil you see in this world, but God is a good God. Let God satisfy you with His goodness and the abundance of His house. Let Him quench your thirst with the rivers of His pleasure. Let Him overwhelm you with the tides of His loving-kindness. God loves you passionately and particularly; He wants you to know it, and He wants to demonstrate His matchless love towards you. Hallelujah! Believe in the goodness of God!
My Solid Front (Confession): In the Name of Jesus, I choose to believe that God is abundant in goodness and truth towards me. I enjoy daily the goodness of God in increasing measures. Amen.
