The Dominant Factor of the Blessing
Genesis 1:26 “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, ‘Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth..”
Genesis 12:2. And I will make you a great nation. And I will bless you and make your name great. And you shall be a blessing.
The blessing is God’s power or authority conferred on man to prosper. Our opening verse tells us of how that in the beginning God blessed man, and He said unto them; be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that creeps upon the earth.
The blessing is God’s mandate given to man to prosper; that’s what makes for prosperity, fruitfulness, multiplication and dominion. When the blessing is received and acknowledged, it causes prosperity; it produces overwhelming fruitfulness beyond what the natural mind can fathom. That’s what the blessing does. The blessing makes rich and eliminates sorrow. God called Abraham alone and blessed him, and increased him. The blessing of God on father Abraham’s life caused him to increase and prosper greatly until he was blessed in all things. He was lacking in nothing; wealth and riches were in his house. He took his place in the company of the blessed, and even stood out.
Notice that the blessing was conferred on man, who is made in the image of God. When God was done making man in His image, He then conferred the blessing on man. The blessing to exercise dominion over all the earth was conferred on man, who is the image of God, the likeness of God. The image of God therefore is the platform for the exercise of the blessing of dominion; it is the dominant factor of the blessing of dominion that was conferred on man. It is worthy of note that the man in Christ is the image of God, recreated in Christ Jesus for good works (Ephesians 4:24; 2:10). A recreation of man in the express image of God’s glory, which is the image of Jesus Christ the Son of God, has taken place in Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:17 tells us that every man in Christ is a new creature, and that old things are passed away. Every man in Christ has been empowered to exercise dominion over all the earth. The mandate of dominion stolen from man has been restored to us in Christ Jesus. Welcome to dominion. You have what it takes in Christ to exercise dominion over all the earth. The image of God in you; the seed of God in you is the right and empowerment to exercise dominion over all the earth. Hallelujah! Rejoice!
My Solid Front (Confession):
The seed of God is in me; His nature is in me. The principle of God’s life is in me, therefore, the dimensions of dominion are expressed through me in fruitfulness, in multiplication, in replenishing the earth and in subduing it. As God’s seed, the remarkable side of me is revealed and by the power of the blessing, I extend the blessing to my world in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
