Gratitude is an attitude of altitude; it takes you up and forward. It is a healthy attitude. The Word says it is a good thing to give thanks unto God, and to sing praises unto His Name (Psalms 92:1). It’s a bad attitude not to give thanks to God! A murmuring attitude, a complaining attitude; an attitude of not seeing what God has done or an attitude of thinking God hasn’t done enough to warrant your gratitude, is uncomely and repulsive to God. That kind of an attitude brings down; not just down, but brings down the drain. God doesn’t want you to go down the drain, He wants you to go up. He is the Lifter up of your head, and wants you to ever increase in glory. That’s the will of God for you! The truth is, God deserves our thanksgiving. He truly is worthy of all our praise.
Our opening Scripture tells us to give thanks to God in everything. In everything? Yes, in everything. Not in some of the things pertaining to life, but in everything. It says this is the will of God for us in Christ Jesus. It evidently isn’t God’s will for us to murmur and be a bunch of ingrates. God desires or wills that we abound in thanksgiving unto Him in everything. Our God and Father is able to turn any situation around, no matter how bad or how long it’s been there. He is Omnipotent and Merciful.
He loves us, and cares about us to never leave or forsake us. Why should we murmur to the One who can do all things; who can turn any situation around? The Lord is faithful and gracious; He is very much and in every sense deserving of our praise and glory. Hallelujah!
Beloved, you can turn any situation around by giving thanks to God in that situation; then God steps in and turns it around. God inhabits the praises of His people; He does not inhabit the murmurings of His people. Gratitude is the attitude that pulls the manifestation of God in any unwanted situation, to turn it around for good. Our murmurings are void of God, but our praises are full of God (Psalms 22:3). No matter the situation, give thanks to God because He is bigger than it, and He can change it for the better. In weakness, give Him thanks because He is your strength. In lack, give Him thanks because He is your prosperity. He is more than enough for you in every situation; therefore He is deserving of your praise.
My Solid Front (Confession): In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I declare that I am full of gratitude to God. My heart basks in the majesty and awesome greatness of God’s power and love towards me, and this I greet with warm and healthy gratitude.
