Welcome to Newness of Life

Isaiah 43:18-19 “Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.”

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new

God does new things. He makes new things and makes old things new. God is the God of Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob. He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living. He is the God of life and freshness. He always does things with freshness and dynamism. He is a quickening Spirit; a life giving Spirit; a dynamic Life-giving Spirit. Hallelujah! In the Old Covenant, God gave a promise to make a New Covenant with the house of Israel (Hebrews 8:10-12).

The New Covenant is ever fresh; it is the everlasting covenant, even the sure mercies of David (Isaiah 55:3; Hebrews 13:20). Prophet Jeremiah prophesied in Jeremiah 36:26 “A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.” God fulfilled that prophecy in the New Covenant in 2 Corinthians 5:17,

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” God has done new things in us and for us in the New Covenant, in Christ. Ultimately, He has made us new creatures in Christ. All things have been made new in Christ. You have been made new in Christ. Hallelujah!

Our opening Scripture warns to not remember the former or old things, neither consider the things of old. Why? God wants us to engage our minds along the lines of the new things that He has done in and for us. Memory can be a hindrance to enjoying the newness of life in Christ, if not well managed. Memory of the old life must be given up to enjoy the new life in Christ. The mind must be renewed by the Word of God, that the beauty of the new life might shine forth in you. Behold, all things in Christ have become new!

My Solid Front (Confession):

In the Name of Jesus, I declare that I am a new creature in Christ and all things pertaining to me have become new; therefore I have a new experience in God. I refuse to consider things of the old life; my consideration is entirely new. Amen.
