Action is the Trigger for Change

James 1:22 “But be ye doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.” The Leverage

James 1:25 But whoever looks into the perfect Law of liberty and continues in it, he is not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work. This one shall be blessed in his doing.

Your actions are seeds for tomorrow’s harvest. You have to be intentional about what you do. Life is all about seed time and harvest. As long as the earth remains, seedtime and harvest shall not cease. Galatians 6:7 tells us “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” To think or presume that your actions don’t count is to be deceived. Your actions count; they define your next level.

For example, when the Gospel is preached to you, what you do with or about it, determines whether or not you will be saved. After you are born again, your attitude to the Word determines whether or not you will grow up spiritually; it determines whether or not you will fulfill your God-given destiny. Never underestimate the power of actions. What you do determines what you will become. Your actions today will either create or destroy tomorrow’s opportunities. Watch your actions!

Esau’s action of disregard for his birthright disconnected him from the blessing of Abraham. Jacob on the other hand, responded wisely and connected with the blessing. What you do with who you are, where you are, what you have, the opportunities that come your way, who is with you and the instructions that God gives you, will determine your next level. Our opening Scripture admonishes to be doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

What does it mean to deceive oneself? It simply means to think that actions don’t count. To do evil things and expect good to come. To say, “Let us do evil that good may come”; The damnation of such a person is certain. Those who don’t mind their actions, who act rashly and foolishly, will always pay dearly for them. This is the reason you must watch your actions. If you have done evil things, repent and call upon the Name of the Lord. He will wipe out your past and give you a new beginning. But to think you can continue in sin that grace may abound, is to be deceived! God cannot be mocked, whatsoever a man sows, the same he will reap. Again, watch your actions!

My Solid Front (Confession):

In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I declare that I exercise godly discretion in the way I carry myself. I behave myself wisely like David behaved himself before Saul. I am wise by the wisdom of God at work in me. Amen.
