Read– PHILIPPIANS 1:23, 2 TIMOTHY 4:7-8
Jesus lived for thirty-three and a half years and did everything that the Father sent Him to do. Only two people in the Bible said, “I have finished my race.” Jesus was one and Paul was the other person. I am sure there will be other people that will finish. I am planning to finish my race! Jesus said, “I have finished the work that you gave me, I concluded it.” At thirty-three and a half years, He died because part of the work He was to do was to die.
It is not part of your work to die like that because your death will not save anybody. So, you must remain alive to finish your work. Paul finished in such a way that he had extra time. In writing to the Philippians, he said in Philippians 1:23 “For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better.” He said, “if I depart, I am going to my reward but if I stay, I will help many more people on the road of faith.” So he decided that he would stay.
Apostle Paul finished his work and that must be your goal. God gave some men in the bible as examples for others. Some are good examples while some are negative examples. Paul is an example of how to live your life so that even if you have made a mistake at the beginning, you can still come back to fulfill your purpose with extra time. You can now look around and help other people and then you can go home whenever you are ready.
PRAYER: Lord, my length of days on earth I will fulfil, doing your purpose and destiny for my life in Jesus’ name. Amen!
