MEMORISE: Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit. Matthew 12:33
Read: Revelations 3:1-2
1 .And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead.
2. Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.
It is one thing to work for God, it’s another thing for you to work perfectly for God, making it possible for your works to be accepted by God.
The church at Sardis which we read about in our Bible reading for today comes to mind here. God didn’t reject them because they were not working, rather, He did because their work was not perfect.
You can attain perfection by working on yourself. This can be done by examining yourself through the word of God.
God told the Church at Sardis that those who were not working perfectly before Him should pay attention to the word that they had heard, they should hold fast to it and make necessary adjustment. It is the Word of God that will expose your imperfections to you.
Ultimately, only God can help you to work perfectly for Him. Submit to Him and obey all His instructions. Allow the Holy Spirit guide you and God will see you as one of His best workers.
Father, please help me to work perfectly for You in Jesus’ name
