Memorable Matriarch II by Pastor W.F Kumuyi

TEXT:1 SAMUEL 1:19-20

MEMORY VERSE: “For with God nothing shall be impossible” (LUKE 1:37). Hannah's challenge and God's gracious response is an eloquent testimony to the fact that God is a very present help in times of need. He never comes late and does not turn away anyone who seeks Him when in distress (1 Samuel 1:1-27).

Hannah's case before men appeared hopeless. Her husband's comforting words could not quench her passion for liberation from her reproach of infertility that was an unbearable stigma to her.

At Shiloh that year, Hannah resolved to look away from Eli the priest who took her for a daughter of Belial, her husband's worthy portion of meat, and the ridicule of her adversary. She poured her heart to God and the Lord answered her prayers.

It is important we highlight some qualities in Hannah which helped her to receive answers to her prayers. She was righteous. Her prayers were effectual and fervent, and she had unwavering faith in God's love and power to do all things.

Dear friend, what are your challenges? Like Hannah, righteous lifestyle, fervent prayers and implicit faith in God will grant you your petition.
