TEXT: “And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say” (Luke 6:46)?

A disciple is a follower and a believer in someone who is considered a teacher or master. In the same vein Christ’s disciples are supposed to be believers in Him who are willing to learn of Him and do all He tells them to do. To be a disciple of Christ, you must repent of your sins and accept Him as your Lord and Saviour.

The heavenly Father testified of Christ, “This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased, hear ye him.” The Lord delights in followers who are obedient to Him. He appreciates believers who do not only learn but also do whatsoever He says.

True disciples should be able to say like Apostle Paul, “I am crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” Christ gave His life for His disciples and like Him we must lay down ours for others.

CHALLENGE: As a disciple, you must learn and do.

QUOTE: A disciple is a follower and a believer.

PRAYER: Lord, please make me a real disciple.
