Higher Everyday TEXT: “Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear” (Isaiah 59:1-2).
God loves mankind and He wants to fellowship with them and provide for them all the good things they desire. The Bible says that God “…is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think…” (Ephesians 3:20). So, God can give us more than we ask if we are truly His children. Prayer is very important. E. M. Bounds says, “Prayer is the contact of a living soul with God. In prayer, God stoops to kiss man, to bless man and to aid in everything that God can devise or man can need.”
God’s promises to answer our prayers are all over the Bible. He has answered many unbelievable requests of many people in all ages. However, today’s Bible text identifies one of the reasons for unanswered prayers. It is sin. God hates sin and a sinner’s prayers. For a sinner to receive answers to prayers, he/she must confess the sins and be cleansed in the blood of Jesus. God cannot behold sins and cannot hear the prayers of sinners. Repent now and let your sins be blotted out.
CHALLENGE: He that covers his sin will not prosper prayer
QUOTE: God hates sin and sinner’s.
