Impatience, like anger, is one of man’s seven basic character flaws or “dark” personality traits. All humans have the potential to be impatient, but for those with a strong fear of missing out, impatience can become a dominant pattern. Impatience is usually defined as: irritation with anything that causes delay; a restless desire for change and excitement. To be impatient is to feel and show hostility towards (or at least about) things which delay one’s goals. Hear what this person declared, “God is never in a hurry but spends years with those He expects to greatly use. He never thinks the days of preparation too long or too dull.”
Waiting on God is neither laziness nor idleness. This is not the abandonment of efforts. It means to wait for your expectations to be realized. Learn to be patient. Look on the brighter side of life. That admission for further studies will come. The success you desire will become a reality. Wait on the Lord.
CHALLENGE: Relax! Be patient!.
PRAYER: Lord, destroy any tendencies to impatience in me.
