ALL BY HIS GRACE
TEXT: “But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me” (1 Corinthians 15:10).
“And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry; Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief… that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief” (1 Timothy 1:12, 13,15b). Apostle Paul passionately shared the touching testimony of his bad past life with his spiritual son, Timothy.
Apostle Paul saw himself unworthy to be so honoured by God. He discovered that it was only the grace of God that qualifies the unqualified and grants unmerited pardon to the vilest sinner. He alone among the apostles was taken to the third heaven, used to write the highest number of books in the Holy Bible, covered more nations with the gospel of Christ though persecuted more than they. The lesson from Paul’s life is that we should learn to always give all the glory to God for all our accomplishments. We are what we are by the grace of God.
CHALLENGE: Ask for God’s grace daily.
