TEXT: “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief’ (1 Timothy 1:15).

Some time ago an inquiring photographer asked six people on the streets of New York this question: “What is the most important event in history?” He got some interesting answers: (1) The settlement of Jamestown by the English (2) The defeat of the Saracens at Tours (3) The defeat of the Japanese at the end of World War II (4) The invention of the wheel (5) The invention of the atomic bomb. But the sixth answer was given by a 14-year-ofd schoolboy. He said the greatest event in human history was (6) The Life and ministry of Jesus Christ. How do you look at Jesus? Whether you look at Him from the viewpoint of a skeptic or a believer, one thing is certain: Jesus has influenced the thinking of the world in a way that no other person has.

Christ died to set man free from sin. Nobody ever said he came to die and save other people from sin. Jesus says of Himself, “If am the Way, the Truth, and the Life” (John 14: 6). Dear friend, having heard of this most important news, what will you do with Jesus? You can repent of your sins, accept Jesus as Saviour, and you’ll have eternal Life.

CHALLENGE: Jesus is the Good Shepherd that laid down His life.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, give me grace to preach the Goodnews.
