Higher Everyday Daily Devotional 13-12-18


TEXT: “This gate of the LORD, into which the righteous shall enter” (Psalm 118:20)..

A gate either admits or excludes entrance of persons. The gates to a public place like a stadium usually have crowds; some going, some coming, others loitering around. In Luke 11:52, the gate of the Kingdom of God is said to have some who neither go in nor allow willing ones to enter. They claim to have knowledge yet they are disqualified from the Kingdom of God because of their sins.

The gate of God’s Kingdom is a screening spot where undesirable persons are separated from those who wish to go in, and will not admit a youth or anyone who is a cultist, fornicator, or a liar. “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God” (1Corinthians 6:9, 10). Every youth that screens himself or herself shall not be embarrassed at the gate.

CHALLENGE: Search yourself and drop those sins.

PRAYER: Search me, 0 God, and know my heart today.
