TEXT: “And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram…and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son” (Genesis 22:13).
A servant of God was going on an assignment some years ago when his car was involved in a crash with a rich man’s car. All his pleas for pardon fell on deaf ears as the man insisted that his car must be repaired and restored to its elegant state.
Apart from loss of time, he knew the parts were very expensive and worst of all he had no money on him or even in his bank account. Instead of worrying, he left everything in Jehovah Jireh’s hand and followed the angry man patiently as they moved from one stage of repair work to another. As the repair was completed, the hitherto angry man just turned to him and instead of asking him to ‘Settle the bill,’ he told him, “Go!”
Jehovah Jireh settled the bill in His own way. He is still our sufficiency in all things today. He can supply our needs in all circumstances if we can by faith, rely on Him and remain faithful while waiting for Him like Abraham.
