Break Through and Get Through!
Mark 2:1-5; Luke 5:20.
Mark 2:4 KJV “And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.”
Our opening Scripture speaks of the account of the man sick with the palsy, who could not walk. Many people wanted to see Jesus and hear Him speak, and a crowd was gathered in the room where He was. But the friends of this man insisted on seeing Jesus, in spite of the crowd in the room; they had to do the unthinkable to get their sick friend across to where Jesus was. They knew one contact with the Master was all their friend needed. For the centurion, he only sought the Word from the lips of the Master, and it was good enough to make his servant whole. The woman with the issue of blood in her own case determined to touch the hem of Jesus’ garment despite the multitude surrounding Jesus at the time, and that was the contact she needed to make with Jesus to get healed. These four friends of the man that was sick of the palsy stretched their faith and broke through the roof of the house to let down their friend before Jesus. They broke through to get through to Jesus. Beloved, understand that a breakthrough is not an accident or something that happens by chance; it is the product of a deliberate act of faith.
Did you notice that the Lord Jesus Christ didn’t complain about the broken roof? He didn’t even pass any comment regarding the broken roof. The Lord only saw their faith. “When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee” (Mark 2:5). Faith can be seen; it is visible. Faith can be demonstrated. Those four men demonstrated their faith in Jesus Christ to heal their friend, and even much more, they demonstrated their love for their sick friend before Jesus Christ and the entire crowd in the room. If a man is truly in faith, his actions will validate what he believes. Breaking through to get through to Jesus is in your action of faith. Don’t just talk what you believe, don’t just think it, do it! Act it! Act out your faith! Ask yourself this question: What am I doing to give expression to my faith? What is my plan of action consistent with what I believe that God has done for me this year? What am I doing to materialize my faith? Action, faith action, is the key here!
SOLID FRONT (YOUR CONFESSION): In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I declare that I am a doer of the Word! I act out my faith always, and all that my faith has received of God’s Word leaps into being for me in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ!
Further Meditation: James 1:22-25; James 2:17-18.
