Sowing in Tears, Reaping in Joy by Abioye Joshua

Psalm 126:5-6 KJV
They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. [6] He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.

Beloved! Even as we celebrate the Palm Sunday in our various places, there are lessons to be learnt in this period. We have heard so many times about the triumphant entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem where He finished His works, and was glorified. But something caught my attention today in His words, and believe me you can’t have the understanding of His Words except you have been revealed by the Father.

Many things happened at the entry of JESUS into Jerusalem, but one thing caught my attention today, which was where He wept over the city when He beheld it.
Luke 19:41 KJV
And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it
Based on my little understanding of the scriptures, I have just seen few instances where Jesus wept because of something. The ONLY two cases I could record from the scriptures where Jesus wept was:

  1. At the tomb of Lazarus, He wept and people saw How much He loved Lazarus! But what came out of the weeping, the One has been dead for 4 good days came back to life(Joy followed). Believe me, no word in the scriptures contradict each other, you can only say that when the scriptures has not been revealed unto You. My Bible says:
Ps.30.5 – For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
In Lazarus’ house, weeping started when he was sick, serious weeping came into limelight when He died, and that weeping continued for 4days after, but believe me, weeping truly endures for a night in Lazarus’s house but Joy came in the morning. So permit me to say, Irrespective of what you have been passing through, Irrespective of what has been making you to weep, can I tell you the word of God? Surely! In the Morning! Your Joy will Come.
  2. Another case where I saw Jesus weeping was in Luke 19:41, when He beheld Jerusalem. He saw where He would pay the final price and wept! He knew without paying the price, there won’t be glory! He knew without paying the price of laying His life down for sacrifice, Holy Spirit wouldn’t have come, He knew without paying the price, the purpose of His coming to the World has no meaning. He had no choice but to weep over the city and pay the price.

Here is the issue this morning: Jesus Himself paid the price, Sowed in tears and later reaped in JOY? Based on my little understanding of the scriptures, I haven’t seen anyone used mightily in the scriptures that didn’t pay any price, they also sowed in tears but later reaped in JOY.

Sir! Ma! The life we live in is governed by a principle called ‘Principle of sowing and reaping’. Man is a reflection of that which He has sown, Check your life now, your current situation is as a result of what has been sown in the past.

Believe me Sirs and Mas, for us to be made that which we are destined to be, there are things to sow. Not ordinary sowing, but in tears! There are surely processes to be passed through in becoming that which we are meant to be, they are surely prices to pay to be at the peak our destines! But it is quite unfortunate, the reverse is the case now. Many youths truly desire great things but to pay the price is the problem. Back to our Fathers in the Faith, read their histories, you will see what those people passed through. It is a pity nowadays, many of us truly are reading God’s generals but we aren’t paying attention to their tears. Many left their families to mission fields etc.

Sir! Ma! What are we SOWING? What price are we giving?
Believe me, it was when Jesus had paid the price that was when He could say empathically in:
Matthew 28:18 KJV
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power(authority) is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
This authority wasn’t given while sleeping sir! This authority wasn’t given at the party place! It was given at the GOLGOTHA

But it is quite shameful nowadays, many young people truly desire Power, truly desire to be used mightily, but aren’t ready to pay any Price.

Believe me, no one rises anywhere without a Price. No glory without a story, even in the realm of the darkness, nothing is cheap, you have to pay the price to get something The question is what price are we paying?
Psalm 126:5 KJV

They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.
The only way to sow that could bring about Joy later is sowing in tears No one is happy at the place of making, or the place of process. The place of processing is not an easy place! David’s place of sowing, or price paying or learning was in the wilderness. But it is quite unfortunate, many people never want to leave their comfort zones. God never be mocked.
Galatians 6:7 KJV

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
What Price are you paying? What seeds are you sowing? Even at this period of stay at home, hope it is not the seed of sleeping?

  1. Studying your scriptures is a sleeping pills, you can watch TV for hours, you can chat online with friends for hours, but coming to scriptures, 30mins you are gone! What price are you paying? Hope you won’t say God is wicked when He starts to reward people. Remember He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. In what way are we seeking Him even in this period?
  2. To pray is a problem, you can gist with a friend for hours but to gist with your Maker at the place of prayer is a problem! Where people are seriously thriving! God cannot be mocked! All you kept saying is God will Have MERCY, but God having Mercy doesn’t mean He is a fool and doesn’t know what He is doing.
  3. To be fruitful is a problem, to preach to lost souls is a problem but we are happy when they are dead! We go for their burial ceremonies buying clothes and you never for once preach to them! You never remember them in your place of prayers. God is not happy over a soul lost, we are busy dancing all about. Many have sacrificed for the gospel, what have you sacrifice because of Christ?

Psalm 126:5 KJV
They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.
The only way to reap in Joy is when we sow in tears, when we jump not out of His processing and Making, when we pay the price.

Truly! Soon! Revival will come but those that have truly paid will be used.
Enough of sleeping! Enough of laziness! It is time to sow in tears, it is time to pay the price. NO PRIZE WITHOUT A PRICE.

And for those that have been SOWING in tears, Hear the Word of the Lord from Me: Don’t be weary, don’t be tired! I know you have been bearing precious seeds, Keep on with it… JOY COMES IN THE MORNING. Psalm 126:6 KJV
He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him. It might seem no meaning now, can we continue! Don’t relent! Joy comes in the morning
Psalm 126:5 KJV
They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.

Mark 8:34 KJV
And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
Following Jesus, there is a price to pay! You must deny yourself! You must submit! Peter has saved us to know the prize of the price or cost of following Jesus:

Matthew 19:27-29 KJV
*Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore? [28] And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. *[29] And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.*

Remember! They that sow in tears shall reap in Joy! These verses revealed what will be of those who truly sowed in tears or pay the price!

The Lord bless you! Help you to sow rightly in JESUS name, grant you the grace to endure, wait while sowing! And when the Joy comes, may you still be found relevant! Amen.
I love you!
Happy Palm Sunday!
Remain Blessed!
