TOPIC: DIVINE AUTHORITY

READ: Luke 10:18-21
MEMORISE
Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you (Luke 10:19).

EXPOSITION
As Christians, God has given us divine authority to overcome all the power of the enemy. We must be willing to receive this power. When we operate in this divine authority, we can do God’s work in the world and make a difference in the lives of others. This power comes from humility and surrender to God’s WILL, and it enables us to experience joy and peace. Jesus spoke about this in Luke 10:18-21 as Satan fell like lightning from heaven. He has provisionally given His disciples the same authority to overcome all the power of the enemy and nothing would harm them.

As believers, we have been given the same authority to overcome challenges and obstacles in our lives. This authority comes from God, and we must submit to His WILL and trust in His power. By doing so, we can defeat the enemy and experience peace and joy in our lives, immediately and ultimately. Are you a child of God? Then, you have been given divine authority to overcome the enemy-Satan, sin, self and the world. It is not something we can earn or buy, but a gift from God that we must receive by faith and maximise. By operating in this authority, we can make a difference in the lives of others and do God’s work in the world. Let us submit to God’s WILL and trust in His power as we use this divine authority to overcome life’s challenges.
