THE HOUR OF MERCY
READ: Hebrews 4:13-16
MEMORISE: Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16).
EXPOSITION:
God is the God of all time (Heb. 13:8). He has given time to everyone equally as a valuable resource. Today’s devotional will emphasise the importance of time and timing in the presence of the Lord. If you have a set time to meet with God, know that He is already there waiting for you because, He is always on time. Unfortunately, many Christians take timekeeping for granted, especially when attending Church programmes. It is important to be punctual and not treat time-consciousness lightly. When we fail to make ourselves available in His presence at the appointed time, we miss out on His blessings. God desires to bless you and give you that long expected and tarrying miracle, but you have been absconding from the tent of meeting with Him! Think for a moment: had Hannah not been found at Shiloh at that particular time, don’t you think her story wouldn’t have positively changed? Church meetings and activities are designed to meet your real and felt needs at given points in time. Not making yourself available is deliberately throwing your blessings away, and God is not at fault. It is of paramount importance that you become sensitive to personalise every programme as opportunity to be blessed. Always see the hour as your own hour of mercy. Don’t let it past you. Be on time, and be consistently accessible because those who serve Him diligently will lack nothing good. Keep yourself connected to His presence.
PRAYER POINTS:
1. Father Lord, I ask that on the day of my visit, I will not experience any delays or obstacles, in Jesus’ name.
2. Lord, help me to be aware of Your presence at all times, and be punctual.
3. Pray for CAC Theological Seminary, Opa, lle-Ife and its off Campuses, the Provost, the Coordinators and the staff as led by the Holy Spirit.
