Redemption Realities II
Mark 16:15-20; Acts 10:38

Mark 16:17 “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues.”

Jesus was never at any point in time subject to the devil in His earthly walk. He went about doing good and casting out devils (Acts 10:38; Matthew 8:16-17). The devil and all his cohorts were subject to Him. With His Word, He hushed screaming devils and cast them out. No devil had his way with Jesus. Therefore, He did not die on the cross and was raised from the dead to have authority over demons. He already had it before His death and resurrection. It was for man that He died, and He defeated the devil to restore Adam’s lost authority. He redeemed Adam’s lost authority and gave it back to man in His Name (Mark 16:16-17). Just as it is in the game of soccer where a player on the bench comes in as a substitute for another on the field of play, so Jesus took our place as our Substitute. He defeated the devil and all the host of demons for us to take His victory. The Word declares: “And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it” (Colossians 2:15). Jesus spoiled (disarmed, neutralised) principalities and powers, triumphing over them for us. Hallelujah! Jesus took our place on the cross and gave us the victory.

Through redemption, Jesus gave us victory over the devil. The Word declares: “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil” (Hebrews 2:14). Beloved, through Jesus’ death on the cross, He has disarmed the devil; He has stripped him of all his authority or right to harm man. This is an amazing discovery from God’s Word. The whole world must hear of this victory for humanity. Many are afraid of the devil because they haven’t yet come into the knowledge of this glorious gospel of Christ. Beloved, take your place in Christ’s victory over the devil for you. Use the name of Jesus to put the devil to flight and he will undoubtedly flee from you.

Further Meditation: James 4:7; Galatians 5:1; II Corinthians 5:17-18

MY SOLID FRONT (CONFESSION)
Heavenly Father, I thank You for I have victory over the devil and his cohorts. He has been defeated and now I have the right to cast him out in Jesus’ Name. AMEN.
