ACCESS TO GOD-GIVEN DIRECTION (1)

Read: Genesis 12:1-4

[1]Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
[2]And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
[3]And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
[4]So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.

MEMORISE: He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the children of Israel (Psalm 103:7).

EXPOSITION
Imagine a man spending his first 75 years of life in his father’s house. What a waste! Abram had spent all of his life with his father, until the Lord spoke to him. Life without plan is pointless. When you lack direction in life, irritation sets in, but when properly led, you are frequently excited.

For seventy-five years, Abram remained in the same place, somewhat dying in his father’s house, while a land, a large nation, awaited him in God’s eternal redemptive plan that he was yet to know. So it is with some Christians today, who are rotting in some places when God has prepared open doors that would provide them interior and eternal-peace. Most saddening is the fact that such people are in the wrong places and doing the wrong things. There are some locations where God’s blessing cannot reach you today. He told Abram, Get out of your country, from your family and from your father’s house, to a land that I will show you (Gen. 12:1). The reality is, until you relocate to your God-ordained location, your God-given allocations cannot locate you. Only the location where He sends you is certain; just be sensitive to His leading.

You don’t need to do a lot of things to succeed; you only need to be guided, Abram was very rich in livestock, in silver, and in gold (Gen. 13:2). Abram became very rich because he was guided, and the journey was shortened because he was directed. An advantage of direction is that, it provides speed, and blessings are certain. You will be directed, if you are receptive to God’s guidance.
