SAFEGUARDING YOUR FUTURE
Read: Ephesians 6:10-15
[10]Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
[11]Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
[12]For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
[13]Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
[14]Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
[15]And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
MEMORISE: For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12).
EXPOSITION
There are powers known as the world’s rulers of darkness. They are the masterminds of the works of darkness. They are spirit beings, spiritual powers bent on destroying men’s fates. Everyone responding negatively to the message of righteousness is bound by an unclean spirit (cf. Mk. 1:23). Unclean spirits cause men to walk about in all manner of uncleanness (1 Cor. 2:12). The spirit of the world is a primary expression of the unclean spirit. The Spirit of the World directs the actions of the fleshly desire (1 Jn. 2:15-17). It oversees, supervises, coordinates and organises fleshly desires, lust of the eyes, and pride of life. When God’s things don’t matter to you, you are under the grip of evil forces. Every revolt is coordinated by evil forces. Rebellion is a diabolical activity carried out by evil forces. Satan entered Judas and led him to betray his Lord.
Every time you are drawn into sin, you become another Judas. Offences will come, but woe to the person who brings them (Matt. 18:7). There is an urgency to save your destiny before Satan ruins it.
The world’s spirits are not natural forces. They are primarily spiritual, demonic and satanic forces bent on destroying men’s futures. Yours will not be annihilated, in Jesus’ name.
The only way to avoid being destroyed is to seek to be continually indwelled by the LORD’s Spirit after having been born again. Be filled with the Spirit of God (Ezk. 37:14; Jn. 15:26; Eph. 5:18).
Remember Samson; when the Holy Spirit is upon you, you will triumph (Jug. 3:10). Just make sure that you aren’t jumping in and out of the Spirit like Samson, to avoid the disastrous end!

1. Shepherd divine, our wants relieve

The pow’r to watch and pray.

3. Spirit of interceding grace
Give us in faith to claim;
To wrestle till we see Thy face,
And know Thy hidden name.
4. Till Thou Thy perfect love impart,
Till Thou Thyself bestow,

5. I will not let Thee go, unless
Thou tell Thy name to me,
With all Thy great salvation bless,
And make me all like Thee!

Amen.
PRAYER POINTS:
1. Lord, crush every mission of evil spirit to destroy my destiny, in Jesus’ name.
2. Lord Jesus, I deposit my future (destiny) in You for impeccable safety.
3. Pray for CAC Essien Region, our father in the Lord, the Superintendent, and its officers at the various levels, as led by the Spirit of God.
