IF YOU WANT TO BE BLESSED

Read: Psalm 1:1

Psalms 1:1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

MEMORISE: Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly. Nor stands in the path of sinners (Psalm 1:1a).

EXPOSITION
The Word of God tells us in Ps.1:1 that “blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers”(NIV). So if you really want to be blessed, you have to follow the Word of God here.

Firstly, do not walk in the counsel of the wicked or the ungodly. That means, don’t let Wicked or ungodly people lead and guide the way you live. Don’t listen to their advice, no matter how good and pleasing it may sound! A bad tree produces bad fruit, so the ungodly produces ungodly advice. So. choose who you hang around with; don’t hang around With ungodly people to be influenced by them. But if you are strong in faith and have the ability to influence them, that’s a different story. You go into their midst to bring a godly influence over them and lead them to walk in your counsel-the counsel of the righteous.

Secondly, if you want God’s blessing, do not stand in the way of sinners. The first influence of the ungodly is ungodly advice. Once a person starts listening to them, slowly, he or she stands with them. This symbolises a sharing of conviction and philosophy. This means you are not only listening to, and guided by the counsel of the ungodly but you are becoming like them, and you are giving ungodly advice too. God will not bless you, if you do that.

Moreso, do not sit in the seat of mockers. This is the worst; this is when you have become everything that they are. Your heart has turned away from God and you have become a mocker – and that is disastrous! There is zero blessingin that!

Therefore, as you walk with the Lord today, know that God is delighted when you choose to be like Him, in holiness and godlines. So choose godliness today and reject every hint of ungodliness. Be greatly blessed! Amen.

2. Lord, let my heart long for, and blossom in your words
3. Pray that the Word of God will saturate our churches and make brethren to continually pant after the word in Jesus’ name..
