BE IN CHARGE

TEXT: JEREMIAH 1:8-11

MEMORY VERSE: “See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant” (JEREMIAH 1:10).

The Lord challenged the young Jeremiah who saw himself as a child who could not do anything to be in charge of the territory He had given to him to control. Many youths still reason like Jeremiah and shy away from the responsibilities the Lord has given to them. They run from preaching to their teachers or masters because they feel they are too young to convince adults. The Lord who gives responsibilities to His children also gives corresponding grace so that the work can be done.

L. Lionel Kendrick in his submission says, “Wise choices can put us in control of situations where we might otherwise be tempted to compromise our principles. We cannot control all that happens to us; however, we can choose to be in control of our response”. From this quote, we can see the place of the choices we make to be in control of situations or not. A youth who chooses to be on the Lord’s side will always be in charge or in control of circumstances around him.

QUOTE: Many youths still reason like Jeremiah.

CHALLENGE: You can be in charge of situations if you are on the Lord’s side.

PRAYER: Lord, deliver me from the spirit of fear.
