WASH YOUR DIRTY WEARS
MEMORY VERSE: “And Moses went down from the mount unto the people, and sanctified the people; and they washed their clothes” (EXODUS 19:14).
“Nothing inspires cleanliness more than an unexpected guest,” says Radhika Mundra.
In our text, Moses had to get the people ready, ahead of divine visitation. In their time, holiness included outward cleanliness. So, they were required to wash their clothes, as part of preparation ahead of interaction with the Holy God.
The body of a true Christian, in the New Testament, is the temple of the Holy Spirit. Righteousness and holiness are mandatory requirements for continued habitation of our bodies by the Spirit of God. Self-examination and separation from all appearances of evil must constitute our daily practice as we expect the unannounced return of our Master, Jesus Christ.
Besides, physical cleanliness, constituting of personal and environmental hygiene, must be taken seriously to ensure good health necessary for the fulfilment of our ministry on earth.
Ensure that your underwear and outer wear are always clean, whether you are in a boarding school or at home. Moreover, you must be washed or cleansed in the blood of Jesus Christ in readiness for His Second Coming.
QUOTE: Be washed in the blood of Jesus.
CHALLENGE: Keep yourself clean.
PRAYER: Father, help me to be clean, physically and spiritually.
