WAIT AND PRAY, NOT DATING
TEXT: PSALM 37:3-7
MEMORY VERSE: “House and riches are the inheritance of fathers and a prudent wife is from the LORD” (PROVERBS 19:14).
According to a dictionary, “Generally, dating refers to a stage of romantic relationship where two people meet socially with the aim of assessing each other’s suitability as a prospective partner in an intimate relationship”. But in the context of today’s morally depraved world, dating, is now synonymous with sexual immorality, popularly sanctioned as normal. But God commands: “Flee fornication…neither yield your members as instruments of unrighteousness.”
God is the Supreme matchmaker. Being our Creator, He knows us very well, and He is willing to guide us to the right marriage partner in due time, if only we would let Him. This same God guided Eleazer, the servant of Abraham, until He identified Rebecca as Isaac’s wife. He would do the same for anyone who would give up human wisdom and trust solely in Him for identification of a life partner. However, as a youth, you cannot be focusing on marital plans yet. At this time, you are supposed to be praying and studying for a good career and a great future. Avoid dating.
QUOTE: Avoid dating.
CHALLENGE: Flee fornication, wait on the LORD.
PRAYER: Father, help me to shun sinful practices and wait on You.
