Maintain the Posture of the Blessing

Genesis 1:28; Ephesians 1:3.

Genesis 1:28 “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.”

There is a posture of receiving and walking in the blessing. The word “blessed” means to kneel and get empowered by a superior; it connotes submission and obedience to God. To walk in the blessing, you need to walk in obedience to the Word, for that’s the posture of the blessing. In our opening Scripture, God blessed the man He had made with the blessing of fruitfulness, multiplication, replenishing, subduing and dominion. These are the five key elements of the blessing. How then did God bless man? “…and God said…” God conferred the blessing by proclamation, by a word of decree. God releases His power by speaking. When He sends His Word, His word goes forth to cause a performance of that which the mouth of the Lord had spoken. Psalms 107:20 says, “He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.” When the Word goes forth, God’s power goes into operation. When God spoke in the beginning and blessed man, mankind was indeed blessed. The Word does not return to God with excuses. There is no inability or a challenge of performance with the Word. The Word is potent and powerful and ready for action (Isaiah 55:10-11.)

If you are a child of God, you are blessed. Ephesians 1:3 says, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.” The first man had in his loins the entire human race, so when the blessing was conferred upon him, the entire humanity was blessed. However, when man fell, the entire human race came under the consequence of the fall. The blessing was lost, and man came under the power of the devil, sin and its consequences. So, the curse, which is the reverse of the blessing began to function in the world. When a man is cursed, the man cannot function in the fulness of his capacity, and he will keep struggling. There are two forces in the world today: the force of the blessing and that of the curse. You need to walk in total obedience to God to be able to walk in the blessing. All we have in Christ is the blessing. So, get into walking in the blessing by taking the posture of humility, meekness, submission to the will of God, and total obedience to God. Beloved, maintain the posture of the blessing all your life, and you will enjoy God’s blessings in your life perpetually.

MY SOLID FRONT (YOUR CONFESSION): In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I walk in humility, meekness and total obedience to the Word as I enjoy the fullness of God’s blessing on my life perpetually. Amen!!!

Further Meditation: Deuteronomy 28:1-13; James 1:22-25.
