Give Value in Exchange for a Higher Value
Genesis 1:1-3; John 1:1-3.
John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made.”
God is a God of value. In the beginning, when God created the world, it was an exchange of value. God spoke His Word and the world came into existence. God did not create the world out of nothing; He created the world out of His Word. Something cannot come out of nothing; that’s impossible. According to the principle of exchange, it is value for value. That means if someone wants something and does not want to give up anything for it, they don’t understand how life works yet. In life, nothing goes for nothing; everything goes for something.
In the actual sense of it, nothing is free. If it is free at your end, look at the other end, someone else paid for it, and that’s the truth. What we know today as the free gift of salvation was paid for by Jesus Christ, our Substitute. The bottom line is, there is nothing free under the heaven. Life is value for value. Genesis 8:22 says “While the earth remaineth, seedtime (value must go into the earth) and harvest will not cease.” That’s how life works. The principle of value states that you must give up value for a higher value or for another value.
Esau exchanged his birthright for a morsel of meat. Jacob understood the exchange, but Esau didn’t understand the weight of it. So, if you want to receive something of value, or determine a new outcome or output of your life, a new level of productivity in your life, then you must also give up something of value in exchange. You must look for the required seed or input that you must give to create that outcome, in order to be lifted to your desired productivity. There are times when what you want is not money per se, but you want another privilege apart from money, another value apart from money, but money is what you have. You can give away the money for another value, the value of your desire. Galatians 6:7 says, “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”
So, God is saying that whatever you sow, that is what you are going to reap. The kind of seed you sow will determine the kind of harvest that you are going to get. The principle of sowing and reaping, giving and receiving responds to the kind of seed that you sow. If you give money, you will receive things related to money, if you give kindness, you will receive things related to kindness. If anyone gives disfavour, disfavour is what will come to such a person. So, God is saying that you have to be very careful what you sow because your seed will come back to you as a harvest of the same kind.
MY SOLID FRONT (YOUR CONFESSION): In the Name of Jesus Christ, I declare that I am a giver, a sower, a planter. I understand and engage correctly the principle of sowing and reaping.
Further Meditation: Galatians 6:6-8; Genesis 8:20-22.
